The Brownlow Medallist injured his knee in round 4 against Brisbane and sat out last Saturday’s game against North Melbourne.
Suns’ General Manager Football Operations, Marcus Ashcroft said the outlook on Ablett had not changed since his injury was diagnosed.
“After reviewing his scans our medical team deemed that Gary would miss anywhere between two and four matches, and we still believe that to be the case,” he said.
Suns’ deputy vice captain Michael Rischitelli also missed the weekend’s game against the Kangaroos and will test his injured ankle tomorrow.
The midfielder is hopeful of completing a range of running drills to keep his hopes of playing against Fremantle alive.
“Michael has responded really well to treatment and we hope that he will complete a little bit of training tomorrow, if he can do that there would be a small chance that he will be available to play this week,” Ashcroft said.
