The Fremantle Dockers are undefeated in round one under senior coach Ross Lyon, and while it’s a welcomed statistic, Lyon said it was more about the players than himself.

“That’s nice, but I haven’t kicked a footy in ten years,” Lyon laughed.

“I haven’t won anything, I just help guide players over the preparation.”

While Lyon joked about his input into the impressive trend, he reiterated that a previous record wouldn’t guarantee anything against the Western Bulldogs in round one.

“I wish it counted, I wish we could take all those victories, but it’s irrelevant,” he said.

“We’ve done the work, Bulldogs think they’ve done the work, and it’s going to come down to whoever takes their opportunities.”
