Fremantle have redrafted forward Hugh Dixon and midfielder Tom North at Friday’s NAB AFL Rookie Draft.

The pair were moved from the club’s primary list on 30 October, with Fremantle expressing their intention to redraft the players as rookies during Friday’s draft.

Dixon was selected with pick no.30 and North was selected at pick no.20.

While North is yet to debut, Dixon made his Fremantle debut against Port Adelaide in round 23, where he kicked a goal.

Both players are contracted for the 2020 season and have been placed on Fremantle’s rookie list.

General manager of football Peter Bell commended both Dixon and North for their cooperation and hard work during the past month.

“Re-drafting both Hugh and Tom as rookies allowed us more flexibility going into the National Draft,” Bell said.

“While they weren’t officially on our list throughout November, they remained fully committed to their training program at Fremantle and have impressed us with their dedication on the training track.

“They remain highly valued players at Fremantle and we look forward to seeing what they can achieve in 2020.”
