It is very humbling and a really proud moment for me to go around again as Fremantle’s AFLW captain for season 2020.

To know that I have the belief, respect and trust from the playing group is an amazing feeling.

It’s not why I play, but it is definitely a privilege to captain the Fremantle Football Club.

For the girls to back me in and believe in me to lead from the front is a very humbling experience.

The strength of our leadership group was shown with the core group of leaders backed in once again by the girls.

I’m honoured to stand alongside Ebony Antonio, Gabby O’Sullivan and Kiara Bowers, who will continue in the leadership group in 2020.

The new addition of Hayley Miller will add another element to our leadership group.

She brings her own skill set and strengths, and I am really looking forward to learning off her as well.

Hayley is energetic, passionate and committed, and it has been incredible to sit back over the last couple of weeks and watch her blossom in her own right.

She has a number of years’ experience captaining Subiaco and she puts a lot of responsibility on herself on game day.

I’m not going to be around forever, and over the last season my role has changed slightly.

I made a conscious effort to encourage the other leaders to drive their own standards and drive their work ethic within the team.

In saying that, there are a number of amazing leaders that sit both in and out of the leadership group, which makes my job quite easy.

It is really exciting to be training with everyone to get ourselves ready for round one in February.

I love the team that we have, and there is fire in the belly from falling short by one game last year.

We had a fantastic season, but we want to go one better in 2020.

We were very fortunate to have the biggest on average crowd throughout our 2019 season, and we couldn’t have done it without the Purple Army.

My aim is to continue to build on that and, hopefully, we can do you proud next year.

We are ready to go, we have worked really hard in the off season and the group is strong and driven for success in 2020.

So, get behind us and let’s see how we go Purple Army.
