Fremantle’s Ebony Antonio and Ashley Sharp have both been recognised for their outstanding individual efforts in Fremantle’s round six game against the Bulldogs.

Antonio has been nominated for the AFLW Coates Hire Goal of the Year after kicking a crucial goal to put Fremantle in front at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Receiving a handball from teammate Gabby O’Sullivan at the top of the 50, Antonio weaved to lose her opponent, drew two more opposition players by faking a handball before breaking clear, she then took a bounce and slotted the goal from 40 metres out.

Sharp, received the Mark of the Year Nomination for taking a spectacular grab back with the flight, which Senior coach Trent Cooper described as “the most crucial part of the game”.

For her to take that strong mark and kick the goal just settled things down so I thought that was probably the big moment of the game.

- Trent Cooper

The moment came as Freo were 10-points down late in the third quarter, a high kick was sent into the top of the square and was taken cleanly by Sharp, going back with the flight of the ball in a one-on-one contest.
