The Fremantle Dockers launched an ambitious campaign on Thursday to help retain membership revenue and keep the club in a strong position as it navigates the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Forever Project involves a number of incentives for Fremantle members to remain on board with the club in 2020, highlighted by the FOREVER MEGA DRAW for WA-based members, with more than 500 prizes totalling $1million in value.

Members will receive email communications from the club on Thursday outlining what options are available for their 2020 membership and how they can be part of the Forever Mega Draw.

Key club partners and supporters have been incredibly generous with the provision of prizes for the FOREVER Mega Draw, which is highlighted by the first prize of “Rosewood”, a $700,000 beautifully appointed Dale Alcock display home located in Apsley Estate, an exciting new lifestyle destination.

Second prize is a Toyota Yaris Ascent auto valued at $17,990 driveaway, thanks to Maddington Toyota and Canning Vale Toyota and third prize is a $15,950 Willie Creek necklace strand of South Sea cultured pearls, thanks to Willie Creek Pearls.

Other prizes include a coaches’ box experience, where a lucky member will get to watch a 2021 game seated with Justin Longmuir and his coaches in the coaches’ box, a year’s supply of groceries valued at $12,000, thanks to The Good Grocer, a 2021 Brownlow Medal interstate trip, 2021 Toyota AFL Grand Final packages, Crown Perth accommodation vouchers, player warm-up area access passes, Optus Stadium parking, Freo HQ experiences, signed jumpers, footballs and much more.

In a letter to members, Fremantle president Dale Alcock said the aim of the FOREVER Project was to ensure the club remained in a position of financial strength.

“I am extremely proud to launch our club’s FOREVER Project,” Alcock said.

“It’s a call to arms and a way for passionate Fremantle people to help protect the financial position of our club so that we can provide the best platform to deliver success in the wake of Covid-19.

“To date, we have been overwhelmed by the positive response from our members and the many supporters who have since become members.

“As part of the FOREVER Project, those members will now join the ranks as our FOREVER Heroes.”

Unfortunately, interstate members are not eligible for the FOREVER Mega Draw due to permit restrictions. However the club is excited about the benefits that will be provided to valued interstate members, including a ‘Coaches’ Box Experience’ prize draw for interstate members who turn 100 per cent of their membership into a Platinum Pledge.

WA-based members who turn 100 per cent of their membership into a Platinum Pledge will receive the following benefits:

  • Entry(s) in the FOREVER MEGA DRAW (1 entry for every $100 pledged)
  • 20 per cent off their 2021 membership
  • A membership price freeze for 2021 and 2022
  • A Fremantle Dockers Team Store voucher to the value of 10 per cent of their membership
  • A FOREVER commemorative cap and scarf
  • Recognition as a Forever Hero on a dedicated club website page
  • Maintain current membership status and entitlements, including access to any games played at Optus Stadium with crowds in 2020, subject to social distancing guidelines

The club hopes all members see genuine value and opportunity in turning their membership money into one of the options provided, but also understands and respects that not all members will be in a position to do so and as such, the club will also be accommodating cancellation requests.

Alcock was confident Fremantle members would unite to support their club at a difficult time.

“Together, we will get the chance to live out our shared dream of being there when this great club wins its first premiership,” he said.

“And when we do… it will be because of our Forever Heroes who supported their club in its time of need.”
