Two Fremantle players have earned coaches' votes for round two in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award.

Michael Walters picked up seven votes after displaying his dominance in the midfield and in front of goal, kicking two goals and finishing with 28 disposals.

Picking up a team-high five tackles for the day, Walters made his presence felt all over the ground as he rotated between the midfield and forward line. Both of his two goals came in the last quarter to bring Freo within a kick in the final minutes, though Fremantle fell just short with Dayne Zorko sealing victory for the Lions with a goal in the final seconds of the match.
