Fremantle coach Ross Lyon says there’s no secret behind Clancee Pearce’s impressive form this season.

The 21-year-old midfielder had 22 disposals and kicked two goals in Fremantle’s win over Port Adelaide on Sunday in another excellent outing.

“It’s called hard work, every moment of your life,” Lyon said of Pearce’s rise up the ranks in 2012.

“He’s just applied himself magnificently. He’s becoming a really solid AFL player.

“The aim is to keep him hungry to keep doing that."

Lyon hoped more players followed Pearce’s lead in getting the best out of themselves.

“We’re about growth and improvement and opportunity at this club,” he said.

“Clearly, we’ve got the resources to help players.

“There’s a few drinking at the well and we need a few more.”
