Sitting in the Simonds Stadium stands watching Fremantle battle Geelong on Saturday night will be 20-year-old William Lugg.

Originally a Collingwood supporter as a child, a pair of socks his grandmother brought home from her work at the Salvos changed Will’s football allegiances forever.

“She brought home a pair of Fremantle Dockers’ socks, and that was the deciding factor,” he said.

Will said being the only Freo fan in a big football family was “interesting”.

“There’s always plenty of footy talk with my dad and my two olders brothers and I always let them know what’s going on with Freo,” he said.

His favourite player is Stephen Hill.

“I just love his run and carry,” Will said.

He hopes to see plenty of Hill’s brilliance on display against the Cats at Simonds Stadium on Saturday night.
