There are at least four Fremantle players in the mix for selection against Adelaide on Sunday at Metricon Stadium, according to senior coach Justin Longmuir.

Freo will be forced to make at least one change with captain Nat Fyfe out due to a hamstring injury, but Longmuir said he was open to seeing some additional players return.

Longmuir said midfielders Blake Acres and Connor Blakely were shaping up as potential replacements for Fyfe.

Blakely has played 60 games in his five seasons at Fremantle but is yet to make an appearance in 2020.

Acres is also chasing his first game of the season, which would also be a club debut for the former St Kilda player.

The pair trained in the same group on Tuesday and went head to head in a handful of midfield drills.

“Both (Acres and Blakely) will come into consideration,” Longmuir told Seven News.

“They’ve put their hands up for selection.”

Ruckman Sean Darcy looms as a likely inclusion as he returns from a minor knee injury sustained in round two.

Darcy proved his fitness last Saturday in a practice match for non-selected players.

“Sean’s come into strong consideration, I was really impressed with the way he handled last week,” Longmuir said.

“He got some good minutes in the reserves game against the Gold Coast and competed really well in the ruck.”

Longmuir added that Sam Sturt would be a chance after the forward trained well on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old has recovered quickly from an ankle injury in round three and was initially expected to miss a month of football.
