Fremantle could have up to five players included in the team that faces Adelaide on Sunday at Metricon Stadium.

Midfielder Connor Blakely appears the most likely replacement for injured captain Nat Fyfe, coming into the extended squad alongside ruckman Sean Darcy, defender Taylin Duman and forwards Sam Sturt and Bailey Banfield.

Fyfe is Fremantle’s only omission at this stage.

The final team will be finalised and announced on fremantlefc.com.au on Friday at 3pm.

If Blakely plays, it will be his first appearance of 2020 after playing 14 games in 2019, missing the first half of the year due to injury.

The 24-year-old has played as a half-back in recent years but returned to a midfield role at training during the pre-season.

Darcy took part in a scratch match for non-selected players last week after recovering from a knee injury sustained in round two. If he plays, Fremantle will likely go in with three tall forwards in Rory Lobb, Jesse Hogan and Matt Taberner.

Young forwards Sam Sturt and Bailey Banfield have played two games each in 2020.

Sturt missed round four due to an ankle injury but has recovered quickly to be in line for selection.

Duman has also played two games this season before his omission in round three.

The 193cm defender may return to add some height to Freo’s backline, which is missing tall defenders Alex Pearce and Joel Hamling.

Bouncedown for Sunday’s clash is at 11.05am (WST), with the game broadcast nationally on Foxtel. The match will also be streamed live via Kayo and AFL Live Pass.

Due to the broadcast agreement, the clash will not be broadcast live on free to air, with a delayed broadcast commencing at 1.30pm (WST) on Channel 7.

Fans without a Pay TV subscription can sign up to a 14-day free trial on Kayo to watch the game.
