Purple Parties kick off purple haze
Congratulations to the businesses, Fremantle members and primary schools that got behind the Starlight Purple Haze Game by holding a ‘Purple Haze Party’ on Frid
The ‘Purple Haze Party’ concept was launched this year as a prelude event to the Starlight Purple Haze Game in round one and required the recruitment of other passionate people to help spread the purple haze passion far and wide!
Twenty five purple haze parties were held in Perth and as far as Port Hedland, ranging from a purple morning tea, to a ladies lunch and a dress purple day. The only common theme was that the events held raised money for the Starlight Children's Foundation.
The result was amazing with more than $6000 raised for the Starlight Children’s Foundation at Friday’s events. It was a great kick start to the fundraising effort which will be in full swing before bouncedown on Sunday.
“The Southern Cross Care staff who attended our function enjoyed their afternoon of festivities at our Purple Haze Party,” said Sandy who organised the event at Southern Cross Care.
“We are already discussing how we can improve our efforts next year and we are very happy to hand this money over to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
“I'm really glad I decided to hold a ‘Purple Haze Party’ because it did so much more than just help the foundation, it boosted the morale at our organisation in what are fairly difficult times for all industries.
“It also shows that we care as much about the young who are suffering as well as the Aged whom we look after in our daily lives,” she said.
The Fremantle Football Club, Fremantle Ports and the Starlight Children’s Foundation would like to thank all the businesses, Fremantle members and schools for their efforts in fundraising for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
