Mundy glad to be back
Star Freo midfielder David Mundy speaks about his comeback game and the crowd's reaction to his return
The 2010 Doig Medallist started the game as a sub but was called into action in the second quarter when young gun Nat Fyfe sustained a shoulder injury.
His impact was immediate and he finished with 13 disposals, four clearances and a goal in just over a half of football.
"The feeling I got from that proves how much I missed being out there," Mundy said about the crowd's reaction.
"I felt like I was running on a cloud early on."
Mundy said replacing Fyfe was not the way he wanted to make his return, but from a personal perspective, he was pleased with his performance.
"It was good," he said.
"I felt like I was able to have a bit of impact."
But he said there was plenty of room for improvement.
"I was still a little bit rusty," he said.
"There's a few things I'd like to iron out in the coming weeks and, hopefully, I get a bit better each week."
Senior coach Ross Lyon said in his post-match media conference that Mundy would shed the green vest in Friday night's clash with the St Kilda at Etihad Stadium - news sure to please the Freo on-baller.
"I put my hand up to play a full game against Brisbane," Mundy said.
"I felt really good out there today and I pulled up very well, so I'll be doing the same for next week's game."
