An article on WA Today has highlighted the superb accuracy of Freo’s Chris Mayne this season.

Mayne has booted an incredible 20.1 from set-shots in 2012. That comes after he kicked 17.19 from set-shots last year.

He is on track to pass Brendon Gale (20.3) as the best set-shot kicker with at least 20 goals in a season since Champion Data started keeping such statistics in 2000.

Mayne's overall tally of 31.3 could also see him post the best goals-to-behinds ratio for the past 40-odd years of VFL/AFL.

Last week Collingwood’s Scott Pendlebury wrote on afl.com that Mayne was his "ultimate" AFL goalkicker.

Here’s a list of the best set-shot shooters over the past decade:

2012: Chris Mayne (20.1, 95.2 per cent)
