Roger Hayden and Luke McPharlin have been named for this weekend’s clash with Melbourne at the MCG, with Michael Walters also named on an extended bench to add to his games tally for the season.

Senior Coach Mark Harvey said at his mid-week press conference that Luke McPharlin would be certain to return after missing three matches with a calf injury and has named him in the back line.

Harvey did however err on the side of caution with Hayden, who has been sidelined since round nine (his 100th AFL game) with a fractured fibula but today has named him on the extended interchange bench.

Hayden has played just six games this season after missing the first three rounds with a hamstring injury, but had a big impact playing forward in Fremantle's successive victories over the Sydney Swans, West Coast and Carlton.

Also named on the extended interchange for the round 20 clash at the MCG are Brett Peake, Marcus Drum, Clancee Pearce, Byron Schammer and Kepler Bradley.

For the first time this season, Harvey has senior players pushing for recalls, but his band of youngsters have contributed to two wins in the side's last three games and he said it would be an interesting selection meeting, which is a good position for the club to be in.

With McPharlin’s inclusion into the side he is now set to play his 150th AFL game at home against Essendon in round 21 in front of Fremantle’s passionate members and supporters.
