Prior to bouncedown of the Fremantle v Sydney game on Saturday night, a Redkite Celebrity Game will be played on the SCG to celebrate Redkite’s 25th Birthday.

Adam Spencer and Merrick Watts will captain fellow celebrities in the charity match to help raise awareness and vital funds for Redkite, a leading Australian charity which supports children and young people and their families through the difficult journey of cancer by providing essential emotional support, financial relief and educational services.

Johnnny ‘The Doc’ Docker will also take part in the Redkite Celebrity Game which will kick off at 6.45pm and the charity aims to raise $25,000 through the match to celebrate this special 25th Birthday milestone.

Others taking part in the celebrity match are Andrew O’Keefe, Scott Dooley, Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson, Chas Licciardello, Craig Reucassel, Brad McEwan, Dr Chris Brown, Marty Sheargold, Joel Edgerton and Les Hill, who all hope their efforts will encourage you to support Redkite!

Channel Ten’s Brad McEwan and Andrew O’Keefe, will attend Fremantle’s Corporate Event in the Churchill Room at the SCG in the lead up to the game and the club’s banner will read; ‘FREMANTLE FLIES FOR REDKITE - SUPPORTING CHILDREN THROUGH CANCER FOR 25 YEARS - THANK YOU’

Redkite is Fremantle’s aligned charity and the Swans also have a close association with the charity, so on Saturday night the teams will be playing for the inaugural Redkite Cup with the trophy to be presented to the winning team by a Redkite family after the match.

On Saturday over 200 family members that Redkite supports will attend the game and enjoy a host of activities including a special family dinner before all the footy action kicks off.

Over the last two seasons Redkite has been one of Fremantle Football Club’s aligned charities and Ryan Crowley and Michael Johnson are both ambassadors for Redkite. Fremantle Football Club works with Redkite to improve the lives of children with cancer and their families by regularly visiting the oncology ward at Princess Margaret Hospital and participating in Redkite Family Days.

Fremantle Football Club asks everyone to get behind Redkite by making donations to www.redkite.org.au and by coming to the game early to cheer on the celebrity teams. Your contribution will make a huge difference to the lives of children, young people and families who are currently going through the trauma of cancer.
