Fremantle have made two changes for their clash against Geelong at Optus Stadium on Monday night.

Defender Reece Conca comes in for Stephen Hill, who has been ruled out with an adductor strain.

Freo also made a switch of small forwards, with Brandon Matera coming in for Travis Colyer (omitted).

Connor Blakely, Mitch Crowden, Tobe Watson and Colyer have been named as Fremantle’s emergencies.

In Saturday’s media conference, senior coach Justin Longmuir said Matera was selected for his ability to crumb goals.

“We feel like Brandon’s real strength is his crumbing ability, his ability to get at the feet of our tall forwards,” Longmuir said.

“I think our tall forwards are going really well and that would be complemented by someone who can get at their feet and kick some crumbing goals.”

Longmuir said Conca would likely play on a Geelong small forward as a replacement for Hill at half back.

The Fremantle leader last played for Fremantle in round five against Adelaide and missed the past two games due to a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile Geelong have made six changes to their team that lost to Collingwood in round seven.

Brad Close, Charlie Constable, Lachie Fogarty, Lachie Henderson, Mitch Duncan and Tom Stewart are in for Gary Ablett (personal reasons), Jack Steven (managed) and the injured Darcy Fort, Joel Selwood, Jordan Clark and Luke Dalhaus.

Bounce down for the clash is at 6.10pm and will be broadcast live on 7mate and Fox Footy.

The match can also be streamed live via Kayo and AFL Live Pass.
