Fremantle and North Melbourne have accepted the penalties handed to key players Hayden Ballantyne and Scott Thompson, respectively.

The Freo forward was cited twice by the AFL Match Review Panel for incidents from Saturday's game against Sydney. Ballantyne accepted both reprimands, with the total penalty points resulting in a one-game suspension.

Kangaroos key defender Thompson also accepted a one-match ban for striking Collingwood’s Travis Cloke during the first quarter of Saturday’s match at the MCG.

The incident was assessed as reckless, low impact and to the body.??The Match Review Panel handed Thompson 80 demerit points, but 60 carry-over points from a previous incident resulted in a one-match sanction.?? Thompson accepted an early plea, reducing the penalty by 25 per cent, but with 105 demerit points to his name still faces a week on the sidelines.
