Due to our upcoming AFL match against Richmond on Wednesday, we played a shortened game of two twenty-minute halves, so there wasn’t a lot of game time.

We wanted to make sure our players got a bit of game time without over doing it.

FORWARD LINE
It was great to see Sam Switkowski make his comeback today, he played a half of footy across half forward. He brought the usual speed and attack on the footy that he has been renowned for.

Also playing in the forward line was Brandon Matera, Jesse Hogan and Bailey Banfield.

Bailey worked really hard across half forward, Jesse provided a contest down the line for us and took a couple of marks inside forward 50.

Brandon worked across half forward with Bailey, he competed hard to get some good positions in the windy conditions and kicked a couple goals.

MIDFIELD
In the midfield Blake Acres played really strongly as an inside mid, he teamed up with Luke Valente who formed a good duo inside.

Tom North was the third midfielder and he competed well against his GWS opponents who had AFL experience.

Stefan Giro played a full game on the wing, which is a good build up for him as he recovers from injury. He continued his hard work and clean use by foot.

I thought Blake was close to our best player, he really competed hard and won some contested footy and was able to break the tackles and get the ball into space to Stefan. Overall, the midfield group competed well.

BACKLINE
Down back we had Hugh Dixon playing on the GWS talls. They competed hard and worked well together to curtail any scoring opportunities for GWS.

Leno Thomas, Tobe Watson and Jarvis Pina played across half back and worked hard to provide a lot of rebound. Leno in particular was really strong in defending the lead and helped prevent GWS running and overlapping with handball.

Tobe provided some stability down back and Hugh bounced back and competed well in one-on-ones
