Fremantle have named an extended squad of 27 players for Saturday’s scratch match against West Coast at Lathlain Park.

Nat Fyfe will captain the team that features two new faces in first-round draftee Heath Chapman and rookie forward Josh Treacy.

Both Chapman and Treacy have impressed this pre-season at training and in a number of club practice matches and will now have their first chance to test themselves against AFL opponents.

The clash will also see defenders Joel Hamling and Alex Pearce as well as forward Sam Switkowski continue to build their match fitness after missing the 2020 season due to injury.

Second-year defender Hayden Young will also make his return to football after missing most of the 2021 season due to injuring his ankle in round six.

Lloyd Meek will also use the clash to push his case for a debut in 2021, with the ruck duties likely to be shared with versatile forward Rory Lobb.

There is a mix of experience and youth in the midfield with the talented trio of Andrew Brayshaw, Adam Cerra and Caleb Serong set to team up with the likes of Fyfe, David Mundy and Blake Acres.

Star forward / midfielder Michael Walters is also likely to get some midfield minutes as he juggles time up front.
