Chris Mayne says Collingwood can expect a “dogfight” at Patersons Stadium on Saturday night.

Speaking to 6PR’s Sports Today, the forward said Freo would trust its game plan to turn the game into a contested-ball battle.

“At our home ground we’re going to make it a dogfight and try and keep it locked in and play the way we want to play,” Mayne said.

Freo has won two of three games at home this season, with the only loss coming to undefeated Essendon in a heart-stopping finish.

Mayne said the club wanted to continue making Patersons Stadium a ground opposition sides weren’t too keen to face Freo and its purple army at.

“It is our home ground and we want to try and build that pressure that, when teams do come across, they know its going to be a dogfight,” he said.

“We have great support, which are our fans who are always behind us, and when they do get loud, it does make it challenging for othersides.

“With them behind us, and the rest of WA, we do feel that we have a really strong home ground advantage.”
