Fremantle has today exchanged its pick number 38 in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft to the Gold Coast Suns in return for their pick number 44 and pre-listed player Tendai Mzungu.

General manager of player management Brad Lloyd said Mzungu, 24, who has played more than 70 games for Perth in the WAFL, had a very consistent 2010, averaging 29 touches a game.

He polled 20 Sandover Medal votes and won the Butcher Medal as the Demons’ Fairest and Best for 2010.

“Tendai played most of his footy across half-back but pushed into the midfield this year and was very impressive,” Lloyd said.

“He is an exceptionally hard worker and is a very smart footballer…very clean below his knees, uses the ball very well and takes the game on with his run and carry.”

Mzungu is the second player secured by Fremantle in the 2010 Trade Period, joining Peter Faulks.

Fremantle exchanged its pick number 55 in the draft with the Suns in return for their pick number 61 and Faulks, a pre-listed player.
