Andrew Brayshaw training on Thursday in the 'clash' Indigenous jumper the Club will wear against Port Adelaide

Senior coach Justin Longmuir has run through Fremantle's options with Matt Taberner not playing against Port Adelaide due to an ankle injury.

Taberner did not train on Thursday after coming off in the third term against Sydney in round 10.

Longmuir said Brayshaw was a likely in and Fremantle would consider their options for further inclusions.

“We brought Treacy in last week and I thought he gave us a good contest when needed forward of the ball. We might rely on him for more game time and bring Brayshaw in,” Longmuir said.

“There is an opportunity to play two rucks and keep that tall structure ahead of the ball. We’ve got a few things to work through and we won’t know until we get the all clear on Tabs.

“(Playing two rucks) is something we’ve got to weigh up because Sean’s dominance around the ruck contest and stoppage is giving us first look as a midfield group.”

Nat Fyfe, Adam Cerra and James Aish trained away from the main group on Thursday but Longmuir said all three were expected to play.

“(Nat’s) got some pain there (in his foot), but no serious damage and it’s something we’ll be able to work through,” Longmuir said.

“He may have to manage it for a month or so. He’s used to managing things so I expect him to handle it really well.

“’Cez’ and ‘Aishy’ were both a bit sore going into the game (against Sydney) and both got through really well.

“They’ll look to be over those hurdles. Hopefully it has settled down.”

Longmuir said defender Alex Pearce had not sustained a setback after coming off at half time for Peel against West Perth at the weekend.

“(Alex is) good. He got good news on that ankle. It looks like he’s just got some irritation where the screws are,” Longmuir said.

“He trained yesterday to give him a little bit more time to recover to play at Peel this Saturday.

“He’s going to have to put up with a little bit of pain and get through that knowing that it’s not going to do him any further damage. It’s a good result.”
