Fremantle will be bolstered by the inclusions of key forward Matt Taberner and key defender Griffin Logue in Freo’s Sir Doug Nicholls Round clash with Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium on Sunday.

The pair come into the Fremantle line-up to replace the injured Sam Switkowski (hamstring) and the omitted Tobe Watson.

Watson joins Connor Blakely, Joel Western and Reece Conca as Fremantle’s emergencies, with one of the four to be named as the medical sub an hour prior to bounce down.

Blakely, last weeks medical sub, is also technically an omission after coming on as a replacement for Switkowski in the third quarter against Port Adelaide.

Senior coach Justin Longmuir flagged the importance of Taberner and Logue to the team’s structure in a Thursday media conference earlier this week.

“To give us another tall in front of the ball and another key behind the ball is really important,” Longmuir said on Thursday.

“We missed those two last week (against Port Adelaide).”

Bouncedown for the Sunday evening clash, which is played the day before the WA Day public holiday, is at 4.40pm.

Fremantle will wear their purple home 2021 Indigenous jumper for the game, which was designed by past player Des Headland, AFLW player Mikayla Morrison and artist Kevin Bynder.
