Senior coach Justin Longmuir has confirmed that midfielder Luke Valente will take leave from the Club for personal reasons.

Valente was not named for Peel in the WAFL this weekend to face Claremont after a three-goal and 20 disposal performance against East Fremantle last Saturday.

Longmuir said Valente’s absence from the team was not due to injury.

“He hasn't (sustained an injury) he's going to take a leave of absence from the club for a couple of weeks,” Longmuir said.

“He's got some issues that he's dealing with off the field. We'll just give him some time and space for a couple of weeks.

“We'll support him as best we can and get him around friends and family.

“All I can really say is that we're fully supportive of what he's going through and we're going to support him to the best of our ability because we want him back at the Club and we want him playing his best footy.”
