The Fremantle Dockers advise that Category B rookie Leno Thomas will not be at the club in 2022 after arrangements were finalised for the 20-year-old to be given an early release from his contract, which was due to expire at the end of the season.

“The club, Leno and his management have mutually agreed that Leno be released from his AFL playing contract for 2021,” executive general manager football Peter Bell said.

“Leno has previously sought and been granted leave from the club on multiple occasions in 2021 for personal reasons.

“We have been in discussions with Leno and his management about his future at Fremantle and it was agreed that he be given an early release from his contract.

“We also wish Leno all the very best for his future endeavours and thank him for his time at Fremantle.”

Thomas played three league games for Peel this season and did not play any games for Fremantle during his time at the club.
