Fremantle have made three changes to the team that will face Richmond on Sunday afternoon at Optus Stadium.
Key forward Josh Treacy, small forward Joel Western and defender Tobe Watson will all come into the starting 22.
Connor Blakely will remain an emergency after playing against Sydney as the medical sub to replace Nat Fyfe (shoulder).
The three will replace the injured Nat Fyfe (shoulder) and Michael Walters (hamstring), as well as Alex Pearce who will miss the game due to concussion.
Treacy was a late out from last week’s match due to illness, while the game will be Joel Western’s second AFL match after debuting against Gold Coast in round 13.
Tobe Watson will be returning to the side for his match since Fremantle played the Western Bulldogs in round 12.
Speaking at a media conference this morning, Matt Taberner said Josh Treacy’s presence in the forward line helps take some of the pressure off his fellow teammates.
“He’s a ready-made player in terms of his physique and a strong kid for a 19-year-old. As soon as he started getting more games into him, he looked more and more confident,” Taberner said.
“He makes our life a lot easier up forward being a tall forward and he definitely takes some of the pressure off with his contest and follow up.
“I’m really excited for his future and I think he can play a big part in the rest of the season as well.”
Taberner will also play his 100th game for the club on Sunday in his ninth season with the club and although he’s had his injury troubles, the 28-year-old said the milestone is a credit to all the hard work that’s been put into him.
“To finally get there… it’s a credit to all the hard work that’s gone into me and the resources available to me,” Taberner said.
“I think I’ve still got a number of years left of good football and I’m really excited with the group we’ve got at the moment.”
The game will be broadcast live into Perth on 7mate and Fox Footy and can be streamed on Kayo.
