The 2013 season was officially launched at Crown Perth on Wednesday morning, with more than 750 people filling the Grand Ball room.

Guests heard from senior coach Ross Lyon, who spoke about the club’s vision for 2013 and beyond.

“We’ve got a strong purpose, we’re aiming to achieve something special and we are all working really hard,“ Lyon said.

Lyon also gave the audience some optimism on Anthony Morabito, revealing the midfielder was just three to four weeks away from resuming full training.

The leadership group was also presented, led again by Matthew Pavlich, who will captain Fremantle for the seventh straight year.

Aaron Sandilands had some positive words to say about Freo’s draftees, who were officially welcomed to the club with a jumper presentation.

“I’ve been really impressed with the young group that’s come in, they are eager to learn as quickly as possible,” Sandilands said.

The new recruits were Danyle Pearce, Josh Simpson, Tanner Smith, Max Duffy, Craig Moller, Matt Taberner and Alex Howson.

Hannath, who admitted that his journey to Fremantle was a little unusual, said he was feeling at home in Freo after moving from South Australia.

“It’s been a full on summer, especially for us new boys who haven’t been in the AFL system before,” Hannath said.

“It’s been great to get a full pre-season under our belts and we can’t wait for the season to begin.”
