Four of Fremantle’s youngest stars are in the running to be named in the AFLPA’s final 22under22 team.
Mim Strom, Sarah Verrier, Dana East and Emma O’Driscoll have each earnt selection in the 22under22 squad after individually impressive seasons in 2022.
It’s the first nominations for Strom, Verrier and East, while O’Driscoll was named on the interchange bench of the final 22under22 team last season.

Strom has played all 10 games in 2022, averaging 13 hit outs, 7.9 disposals and four tackles per game, while also ranking in the top ten across the competition for disposal efficiency.
The 20-year-old has shouldered the lead ruck role for Freo over the past few seasons, with Senior Coach Trent Cooper recently praising Strom for her workload.
“Her body of work has been quite exceptional…we value her highly for what she does, and I think she has been one of the more influential players of her age group over the years,” Cooper said.
Verrier has also played every game in 2022 and boasts an average of 12.4 disposals, 5.1 intercepts, four rebound 50s and 3.4 marks per game this season.
East has played all but one game this season, averaging 10.2 disposals per game and amassing an incredible 53 tackles across her debut year at AFLW level.
O’Driscoll has played all but one match in 2022, with an average of 8.9 disposals, 4.9 intercepts and three rebounds 50s per game.
The fan-voted concept recognises the best 22 players aged 22 and under for the entirety of the AFLW season.
For a player to be eligible for the squad of 40, they are required to play 50 per cent of games for the year, which equates to five games in 2022.
Voting is open for seven days from March 15 to March 22, with the final team to be announced on Tuesday March 29 ahead of the AFLW MVP Awards.
