Fremantle are expecting Rory Lobb to get the all clear for next week’s clash with GWS after the forward played through pain in his shoulder for most of the RAC Derby.

Lobb was clearly limited after getting a knock and was subbed off in the final term against West Coast.

Fremantle could also have extra tall forward support against the Giants with Nat Fyfe set to make his return from a hamstring injury.

Young key forward Jye Amiss also kicked two goals from his four disposals for Peel against South Fremantle, however his AFL return is more unlikely as he builds from what was his first football appearance after sustaining a kidney impact injury in May.

“(Rory) is sore but we don’t think it’s anything significant,” Longmuir said.

“I was proud of his efforts after he got injured to halve some contests and remain in the game and keep working his way through it. So we will wait and see but hopefully it’s alright.

“I’m expecting him to play…we know the injury, he’s been carrying it for three weeks. He just got a stinger on it and couldn’t go on tonight but we think he’ll be alright after seven days.”

Longmuir praised Lobb’s bravery for playing through the pain.

“Yes, he’s pretty good at it to be honest. He doesn’t let on when he brings injuries into games and he pushes through it pretty well,” Longmuir said.

“We just thought when he was carrying that arm a bit we just thought that it was best to get him out of there.”

Longmuir was pleased with how Peel performed in their 14-point win against South Fremantle, giving him plenty of options at the selection table.

“Hopefully we get the skipper (Fyfe) back and we had a good performance at Peel today where we had a good win against a side sitting close to the top of the ladder,” Longmuir said.

“We’ll review that game and see who deserves an opportunity and put our best team out there.”
