Fremantle take on Adelaide on Sunday at Adelaide Oval, here are some interesting numbers to look out for.

Four goals
Adelaide’s Taylor Walker is likely to draw the attention of defender Alex Pearce in what will be one of the key matchups for the game. Walker had his most prolific game in more than a year with four goals in round six against St Kilda, backing up his three-goal effort in round five against Gold Coast. Conversely, Brandon Matera is Freo’s form forward with nine goals from his past two appearances.

8.5 marks inside 50
Fremantle’s defence has arguably been the best so far this season, conceding just 8.5 marks inside 50 per game, the lowest in the AFL. Adelaide’s defence has also excelled, conceding 9.8 marks inside 50 per game, the third lowest in the AFL.

73 long kicks
The stats show Adelaide prefer to chip and charge, while Fremantle are moving the ball long in 2019.
Freo are ranked first for long kicks this season with an average of 73 per game, compared to Adelaide’s average of 53.3 (16th in AFL).
Conversely, Adelaide are utilising the short kick, averaging 92.8 per game (4th in AFL) compared to 77.5 for Freo (14th in AFL).
Interestingly, Freo is running at a higher kicking efficiency at 66.3 per cent (eighth in AFL) compared to Adelaide’s 64.8 per cent (14th in AFL).

30.2 disposals
Nat Fyfe’s average of 30.2 disposals per game is higher at Adelaide Oval compared to any of Australia’s other major stadiums. For comparison, he averages 20.7 disposals per game at the Gabba, 22.3 at Marvel Stadium, 24.9 at the MCG, 27.6 at the SCG, 28.7 at Optus Stadium and 29.2 at GMHBA Stadium.
His obvious standout was in 2015 against Adelaide, where he had 40 disposals and 26 contested possessions in a career-defining performance.
