Fremantle have received a boost for Sunday’s clash with Essendon at Windy Hill with the return of midfielder Philipa Seth.

Seth has played 32 AFLW games to date including all 10 games of Season 7, but missed the opening three rounds of the 2023 season due to a hand injury sustained in a pre-season practice game against West Coast.

The former defender transitioned to the wing in Season 7 and had a career-high 17 disposals in her most recent appearance in round 10 against Hawthorn last October.

She is the only confirmed inclusion at this stage, with the final team to be announced on Friday at 3pm via fremantlefc.com.au.

Fremantle’s extended interchange of eight includes Ariana Hetherington, Jae Flynn, Sarah Verrier, Dana East, Airlie Runnalls, Nikki Nield, Mikayla Hyde and Makaela Tuhakaraina. It will be narrowed to five as a part of the final team of 21.

Nield and Tuhakaraina are the other two potential inclusions from Fremantle’s win against Hawthorn in round three.

The clash is the first between Fremantle and Essendon in the AFLW, and the Club’s first ever game at Windy Hill in either the AFLW or AFL.

Both Fremantle and Essendon have two wins from the opening three rounds, with Freo seventh and Essendon 10th on percentage.

It is the first of two games for Fremantle in their week away in Melbourne, also taking on Richmond on Friday 29 September at Ikon Park.

Bounce down for the clash is at 3.05pm EST (1.05pm WST) and will be broadcast live into WA on 7mate, Fox Footy and can be streamed on Kayo and the AFLW Official App.
