Fremantle’s 35-point victory over the Adelaide Crows at Optus Stadium on Good Friday adds to the Club’s already perfect record of wins over Brisbane (23-points) and North Melbourne (26-points), with Bailey Banfield praising the ‘Freo Army’ for their support.

“Looking around at the start of the game you couldn’t see too many empty seats and that really lifts us,” Banfield said post match.

“When that Freo chant gets going it’s awesome.

“To have the Purple Army out in absolute force is awesome and hopefully we can keep building on that because they're a massive advantage for us."

51,037 fans packed in for the Good Friday clash, a record crowd number for a non-RAC Derby game and something that the players felt on ground.

“The noise and the energy in those arm wrestle games, they get really into it and we love their support,” Banfield said.

On top of the support from the fans, Club Captain Alex Pearce’s form has been a highlight this season, with the 28-year-old leading Fremantle to a perfect 3-0 early in the year.

“When we talk about the arm wrestle and the contest work, he (Alex Pearce) leads the way for us there,” Banfield said.

“He had a few massive contests especially early in the game when it was still really tight.

“His ability to impact the contest when it’s on the ground or in the air, he’s one of the best in the competition.

“He really sets the tone for us, and he did it again tonight.”

Fremantle will now travel to Adelaide for the next two games, facing Carlton in an undefeated Gather Round clash and then Port Adelaide the following week.
