Fremantle have interest in Geelong forward Shane Kersten and Western Bulldogs defender Joel Hamling, according to Fremantle’s general manager of list management Brad Lloyd.

South Fremantle product Kersten, who is out of contract, played 17 games for Cats before being dropped for the finals.

“He’s someone we’re talking about at the moment,” Lloyd told NAB Trade Radio on Monday.

“We haven’t had too many discussions with Geelong at this stage, but we’ll get to those. It’s getting to that point, but we’re not quite there at the moment.

Lloyd also confirmed Fremantle's interest in defender Hamling, who played in the Western bulldogs Grand Final win over Sydney.

“He’s a young Western Australian boy, a key defender with good speed, so someone we have some interest in,” Lloyd said.

“He had a great finish to the year and played in a premiership, as we all know, so he has some things to work through.”
