Walyalup have confirmed their final team of 23 to take on Yartapuulti (Port Adelaide) on Saturday night and will go into the Sir Doug Nicholls Round clash with an unchanged line-up.
Senior coach Justin Longmuir and his match committee are backing the same squad that defeated GWS at ENGIE Stadium by 34 points.
Earlier today, Longmuir ruled out ruckman Sean Darcy from making his return from one match out with a sore knee after he tested it at Wednesday’s main training session.
“He didn’t pull up great after the session yesterday - not bad, but not quite 100 per cent,” Longmuir told Tim Gossage and Scott Cummings on SEN WA.
“So, he won’t be available for selection this week.”
Luke Jackson has been named as the main ruck, alongside Caleb Serong and Andrew Brayshaw in the middle.
Bailey Banfield, Isaiah Dudley, Neil Erasmus, Matthew Johnson and Cooper Simpson are named on the interchange bench.
The Club remains undefeated in the third season of re-branding as Walyalup Football Club for Sir Doug Nicholls Round matches, with a record of four wins and one draw.
To celebrate, Walyalup will wear an Indigenous jumper designed by one of the Club’s favourite sons and most exciting small forwards, Jeff Farmer — alongside his father Jeff Farmer Snr, mother Iris and in collaboration with Roger Hayden.
The design pays tribute to Farmer’s footballing journey and the history of Indigenous people in WA’s Great Southern region.
On Saturday night, players from both teams will enter the field together before heading towards their respective team banners. Walyalup will enter with the Kimberley Stolen Generation Aboriginal Corporation, while Yartapuulti will enter with the WA Stolen Generation Aboriginal Corporation.
James Aish, Joshua Draper and Liam Reidy have been named as the emergencies.
The tactical substitute will be announced one hour before the game.
Bounce-down is scheduled for 6.10 pm WST.
The game will be broadcast live on 7mate and Fox Sports 3 and streamed live on 7plus and Kayo from 6.00pm WST.
