Fremantle have named their extended squad of 26 for Sunday’s Starlight Purple Haze game, proudly presented by South32, with Sean Darcy, Isaiah Dudley and Oscar McDonald all potential inclusions for the clash with the Saints.

Darcy, Dudley and McDonald have been named on an extended bench alongside last week’s sub James Aish, Josh Draper, Neil Erasmus, Nat Fyfe and Jeremy Sharp.

After making a successful return against Essendon, Nathan O’Driscoll has been named on one wing, with Matthew Johnson on the other.

If selected in the final 23, McDonald will play his first AFL game since the team’s Round 7 win over Adelaide, where he kicked two goals.

Similarly, if selected, Dudley will play his 10th AFL game of the season after being picked up during the Supplemental Selection Period.

In Round 8, Fremantle lost to the Saints by 61 points at Marvel Stadium, but since then have posted a 5–1 record to sit sixth on the ladder.

Midfielder Caleb Serong will captain the side in skipper Alex Pearce’s absence. Speaking on the significance of the Club’s 23rd annual Starlight Purple Haze game, proudly presented by South32, Serong said Sunday is about more than just footy.

“The reach and the impact we can have as a football club and as individuals is pretty special,” Serong said.

“It’s something the group and I don’t take lightly.

“I’m very proud to be an ambassador for Starlight and to have the opportunity and privilege to go into these hospitals and see the families and kids—sometimes at their worst and going through the hardest things they’ve ever faced. We are very privileged.”

Sunday’s fixture marks the end of a three-game stretch at Optus Stadium for the team.

Fans can pledge any dollar amount for each goal Fremantle kicks during the match. Thanks to the generous support of South32, all pledges will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000 - doubling the impact of every donation.

Everyone who makes a pledge will go into the draw to win a 2025 Starlight jumper signed by all nine of the Club’s Starlight ambassadors, including Andy Brayshaw, Serong, Jye Amiss and Hayley Miller.

Fremantle’s final team will be announced at 3:00 pm WST on Friday at fremantlefc.com.au.

The tactical substitute will be confirmed one hour before bounce down on Sunday.
