The Purple Hands Foundation and Containers for Change (WA Return Recycle Renew Limited) have announced the continuation of their partnership through to December 2026, expanding their mission to drive positive change across the Kimberley region.
This commitment brings refreshed online workshops to the Kimberley Connected program - ensuring more young people can access learning about healthy choices and caring for country - alongside the added excitement of in-person Container for Change workshops at the Kimberley 9s, directly engaging young people in regional WA.
The renewed partnership builds on this year's success, with Containers for Change reaffirming its social impact commitment in the Kimberley.
The collaboration will deliver a broadened reach for the Kimberley Connected program through new online modules and increased accessibility for students throughout the region.
As part of the refreshed strategy, the partnership unveils an updated online workshop series aimed at connecting students to their culture and delivering practical lessons in sustainability, nutrition, and responsible waste management. These online sessions are designed to include more students than ever before, empowering them with skills and knowledge that last a lifetime.
The Purple Hands Foundation helps young people overcome barriers to unlock their true potential, instilling important life skills so that no one is left behind.
Purple Hands Foundation General Manager Donna Rendell says extending the partnership with Containers for Change was a brilliant outcome.
“It’s fantastic to have Containers for Change continuing their partnership with Kimberley Connected and the Kimberley 9s,” Rendell said.
“They’ve stood alongside us over multiple years as the program has grown into something incredibly impactful for young people and school communities.
“Their commitment to sustainability and giving back makes them the perfect partner across the Kimberley.”
WA Return Recycle Renew CEO Tim Cusack expressed his enthusiasm for the continued partnership between Containers for Change and the Purple Hands Foundation.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Purple Hands Foundation once again," Cusack said.
"Over the last three years of the partnership, Purple Hands has delivered some exceptional Kimberley Connected programs for local children and provides a once in a lifetime experience with its beach-side carnival on Cable Beach.
"We feel Purple Hands is making long-lasting change in the Kimberley region and we are glad to be part of initiative that spotlights educating children on important sustainability outcomes and how to best Care for Country.
This year’s Kimberly 9s will take place in Broome over October 29 and 30, with participation at record high.
