Fremantle have confirmed midfielder Orlagh Lally won’t be available for the Club’s Round 8 clash with Hawthorn on Thursday evening.

AFLW High Performance Manager Tom Sutherland said the 24-year-old experienced soreness in her right foot following Fremantle’s Friday night game against Carlton last week.

“Orlagh has unfortunately developed a bit of soreness in her foot, so we’ll be holding her out this week unfortunately,” Sutherland said.

Key forward Áine Tighe has progressed into football training and is inching closer to a Round 10 return.

“(Áine’s) getting closer each week, which is great,” Sutherland said.

“She’s back to football training, which is awesome, so we’re just building back her load.

“She’s looking great out there, it’s really good to see.”

Sutherland provided an update on defender Holly Egan, who has achieved a milestone in her ACL rehab.

“(Holly is) getting there, one step at a time,” Sutherland said.

“(She ticked off) a big milestone, kicking her first footy yesterday, which was awesome to see.”

Defender Madi Scanlon got through her quad fitness test and was available for the scrimmage the Club participated in on Friday.

“(Madi) returned to scrimmage (last week) and got some minutes, which was great,” Sutherland said.

“We’re just going to keep building back her football load for her quad.”
