Following the success of 2024’s inaugural Teacher Professional Development Day, Fremantle will once again bring together primary and secondary educators from schools across Western Australia for an action-packed day of learning.
The event will take place on Friday 14 November, at Fremantle’s HQ at the Cockburn ARC facilities, from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
The day will include a variety of activities, featuring a keynote address from Fremantle Chief Executive Officer Simon Garlick, panel sessions with coaches and players, practical activities, breakout sessions with wellbeing, strength & conditioning staff and a facility tour.
There will also be information on Fremantle and WA football school programs, as well as the Digital Schools Hub.

Last year’s PD Day saw approximately 70 educators attend the event, which allowed teachers to engage directly with professionals from both the AFL and teaching communities, fostering a rich exchange of ideas.
Speaking on the success of last year’s PD Day, Anna Fischer from St Mary’s Catholic Primary School recounted her experience.
"The Fremantle Footy Club PD day was a fantastic opportunity for Phys Ed teachers to enhance their skills in delivering a footy program to students.
The provision of comprehensive resources and guided lesson plans made it easy to feel confident and prepared for future lessons.
The activities were thoughtfully tailored to suit different year levels, and the ability to see variations that maximise student engagement was particularly valuable.
Overall, this PD day was a fantastic professional development experience that will undoubtedly benefit both teachers and students."
