Fremantle have finalised a deal with Richmond that will see Dana East head to Victoria, following the midfielder’s request to seek a trade in pursuit of greater opportunity.
Richmond have given Pick 40, a Future Third Round pick (tied to Gold Coast) and a Future Fourth Round pick (tied to North Melbourne) to Fremantle in exchange for Dana East, Pick 63 in the upcoming 2025 AFLW Draft and a Future Third Round pick.
East was signed by Fremantle ahead of the 2022 season, with pick 31 in the 2021 AFLW Draft and has gone on to play 49 games across five seasons.
A competitive inside-mid, East was a valuable part of the Club’s midfield, known for being clean in the contest, bringing a ferocious attack on the ball and hunting her opposition.
The 23-year-old’s season-best effort for 2025 was in Round 1 against Port Adelaide, where she laid 10 tackles, amassed 14 disposals and five intercept possessions.
AFLW List Manager Darryn Fry thanked East for everything she gave to the Freo family in five seasons and wished her well for her future at Richmond.
“We want to thank Easty for her contribution to the Club over the past five seasons,” Fry said.
“She has been an integral part of our Club since she walked through the doors, both on and off the field and has always brought genuine effort, competitiveness and care for her teammates. Easty is the teammate you love to have on your side.
“Easty’s desire to continually develop her game, test herself against the best and growth mindset have been hallmarks of her time in purple.
“Easty will always be part of the Freo family, and we wish her well on her new adventure over at the Tigers.”
