Fremantle key forward Josh Treacy is loving the way Fremantle’s forward line has been functioning so far in 2026.
Speaking to Triple M Footy following the 48-point win over Melbourne in Round 2, Treacy said he is enjoying the fast ball movement.
“It’s been great. I'd love it a bit quicker too,” Treacy joked.
“Cleary it's the speed in that front half, and we've got good ball users up the ground.
“I think we’d be silly not to go that way and continue to play like that.
“I think we feel like we have it covered in the air and at ground level as well.
“Certainly, as big boys, we pride ourselves on both, and we know that we've got a fleet of small forwards with some serious speed who can get after it for us.”
Treacy himself was one of the beneficiaries of Fremantle’s blistering Round 2 performance, kicking four goals from his 17 disposals and 10 marks.
Fremantle has now collectively scored 101 points in first quarters over the opening two rounds of the 2026 season, while conceding just 26 points.
By the final siren, Fremantle led the inside 50 count by two, but efficiency proved the difference, with Fremantle scoring from 57% of their forward 50 entries compared to 36% for Melbourne.
