Darcy Tucker is pleased to be reaching the 50 game milestone this Sunday against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium, but the midfielder wants so much more.

Tucker first played for Fremantle in 2016 and has taken just over three seasons to reach the mark.

“It’s come really quickly, it’s a small milestone in a way but I’m still very excited to clock up 50 games,” Tucker said.

“The three years has gone really quickly and I’m going into my fourth season now so I’m just aiming to keep working on my game and play consistent footy.

“The game is really an opportunity to thank those around me and those along the way from family and friends growing up, to all my coaching staff and everyone here at the Fremantle Dockers.

“It’s a small milestone but I’m pretty proud of it.”

Be there for the Purple Haze in round three!

The 22-year-old said he is looking to build on what has been a strong start to his career.

After primarily playing in defence and on the wing earlier in his career, Tucker took on an inside mid role in round one against North Melbourne with impressive results.

Tucker was one of Fremantle’s best, racking up 24 disposals, kicking two goals and laying an equal game-high seven tackles.

“I’m into a different role as well, so being more of an inside mid and a defensive midfielder as well going to the opposition’s best players,” Tucker said.

“It gives me a really clear focus going in week in week out, just having an impact around the ball, having a crack and it’s seemed to have worked for me so far.

“I can’t breathe out yet, I’ve got to review my game, work on my weaknesses and play at that level every week.”
