The Fremantle Football Club and Containers for Change WA are proud to announce the expansion of their ongoing association through the 2026 AFL season.

The partnership builds upon several years of collaboration between the two organisations with a shared commitment to community engagement and positive environmental impact.

This partnership adds to the work already underway with the Club’s charitable arm, the Purple Hands Foundation, and its Kimberley Connected program, driving education, opportunity, and on-the-ground change throughout the region.

Fremantle and Containers for Change will activate across a range of initiatives during the 2026 AFL season. Fans can look forward to in-stadium activations at selected home games and player-led content showcasing how every action counts.

Since 2020, Western Australians have saved over 5 billion containers from general waste and have recycled them through Containers for Change.

Fremantle Football Club Executive General Manager of Commercial Carissa Pearce is excited to see the relationship continue to grow.

“Over the past few seasons, Containers for Change has seen firsthand the impact of connecting with our members and fans,” Pearce said.

“This next step reflects the results we’ve achieved and a shared ambition to build something bigger together.

“We’re excited to evolve our relationship  and together unlock new ways to engage our audience.”

Tasha Sheldrick, Chief Growth Officer for WARRRL, the scheme coordinator for Containers for Change WA said,

“We are proud to be partnering with the Fremantle Football Club in 2026. We saw a natural synergy with the club’s marginal gains mindset - built on the belief that the biggest gains come from small actions repeated every day. Finding opportunities to improve performance by small margins across many areas, both on and off the field, can have a big impact on the overall outcome. The same thinking is reflected in our work at Containers for Change, where Western Australians’ everyday efforts to save and return 10¢ containers add up to something bigger for our community and environment.”
