Emma O’Driscoll makes strong return after injury interrupted pre-season

Walyalup will host Carlton at Cockburn ARC Oval in Round 3 of the 2026 NAB AFLW Season.  

The game will commence at 3.05pm on Sunday 30 August.  

As we celebrate Indigenous Round this weekend, the Fremantle Football Club will once again be known as the Walyalup Football Club for all games played during the AFLW Indigenous Rounds. 

Walyalup is the Noongar country in and around Fremantle, with the Walyalup Club logo being designed by past player and NGA Coach Roger Hayden. 

The Club would like to thank its Indigenous Program partner Woodside Energy for their support of the Club’s renaming, and its continued involvement in the delivery of its Reconciliation Action Plan. 

Tickets for the match are just $15 for adults, while juniors (under 14) are free. Make sure you avoid the queues by purchasing your ticket online before the game.  

Entry to the ground on AFLW match days will be located on Remembrance Avenue. 

The Jumper

Professor Colleen Hayward, Walyalup’s outgoing board member, has shared the story of her journey with the Club as part of this year’s AFLW Indigenous jumper design. The jumper will be worn in the Club’s Round 3 clash with Carlton, with an alternative away version to be worn in Round 4 against the Tigers.

A Club member since 2004, and a Club Board Member since 2017, Hayward’s personal story pays tribute to her journey with Walyalup, and to her strong family connections through the Artwork by Kevin Bynder in collaboration with Colleen Hayward.

Cockburn ARC Oval 

Walyalup will play all AFL Women’s home matches at the Club’s Cockburn headquarters for the 2026 NAB AFLW Season, in a move set to support future growth and elite standards for the program.

What’s Happening on Game Day?

AFL Players Signing Session
Our boys will be in attendance on Sunday afternoon for a signing session as they prepare for next Thursday's Qualifying Final against Hawthorn. Players will be split across their three line groups with three different times for signing.

  • 2.10pm (Forwards) - Boundary line, as the warm-up begins.
  • 2.50pm (Mids) - Boundary line, as the girls run out onto the field.
  • 3.45pm (Backs) - Boundary line, half time.

Moorditj Markets 
We’re once again inviting local First Nations businesses to be involved in our annual Moorditj Markets, supported by Woodside Energy. Each business will have the opportunity to showcase their goods and wares to the Freo family at Cockburn ARC Oval on Sunday.

Head out onto Cockburn ARC Oval 15 minutes after the final siren has sounded to have a kick of the footy, proudly supported by Woodside Energy.

Things to remember 

  • The grass hill on the far wing is naturally sloped, and chairs are not allowed inside the venue. We strongly recommend a rug or low seating option for the best and most comfortable viewing experience. 
  • Bags or other items larger than an A3 piece of paper may not be permitted.   
  • No cloaking facilities are available.   
  • Bringing your own food into the venue is permitted but must be in a soft cooler bag (hard eskies, glass and aluminium are not permitted).  
  • No BYO Alcohol permitted at any time.  
  • No pass-outs are available.
