Fremantle senior coach Justin Lonbgmuir believes this could be one of the Club’s most impressive wins of the season.

Speaking to the media following the Club’s record 124-point win over North Melbourne at hands Oval in Bunbury, Longmuir said the maturity of the performance was a standout from his side.

“I think the most pleasing thing was the fact that it was really different build up to the game,” Longmuir said.

“We’ve never played here, travelled two hours, some by bus, some drove, going into a bye, so much hype around the way the win last week, there's just so many distractions that made this feel like it, you know, could have been a slip-up game.

“I said to the players after the game, on reflection, when I was sort of sitting around last night thinking about the week, and as senior coach, you look at all those things and you worry, but we reviewed well, we prepared well for the oppo, understood their strengths.

“We went out and trained well. We walked through it well. When we got down here, the players were locked into what we were doing, and I just think it's a sign of our maturity, or where we somewhat ignore the outside noise, or understand the outside noise is exactly that, and really home in on the process and work when we need to work,

“Then have a bit of fun when there's time to have a bit of fun, and we're finding that balance, and it's allowing us to go out there and play somewhere near our capability.”

The spread of contributors on the day was immense with 10 individual goalkickers, four (Voss, Treacy, Switkowski, Jackson) who finished the day with three or more to their name, while also restricting North Melbourne to just four behinds following halftime.

“It was pleasing at half time,” Longmuir said.

“I spoke about being in this situation before and probably talked in language that takes us away from the process and almost tried too hard.

“But I just thought we just stuck to the plan today, and like you said, we were ruthless with the way we played.

Fremantle will now enjoy the Round 14 bye before facing the Cats back at Optus Stadium in Round 15.

Geelong are the only side to have defeated Longmuir side so far in 2026.

“Definitely need to recover, take a deep breath,” Longmuir said.

“We've travelled a lot over the first part of the season, put a lot of effort into it so it’s as an opportunity now to recover over this period of time, come back when we need to come back and start getting ready for Geelong.

“But it's an important part of the process in season is to use the bye week to make sure we freshen up and recover."
