Fremantle midfielder Nathan O’Driscoll has hailed the returns of fellow midfielders Hayden Young and Jaeger O’Meara after layoffs from their respective injuries.

Both Young (23 disposals, two goals) and O’Meara (16 disposals, three clearances) were impactful in the Club’s record 124-point win over North Melbourne in Bunbury.

Speaking following the game, O’Driscoll said it was good to be back alongside the duo.

“He’s a freak, Youngy,” O’Driscoll said.

“We know what he can bring, and he's probably one of the A-grade midfielders in the competition.

“Same as Jaeger O'Meara, shout-out to him as well.

“He came back from a pretty serious knock a few weeks ago, had a couple of weeks in the WAFL, and then just to come out and do what he did is unbelievable.

“We have so many blokes down there at Peel fighting for a spot, and you can see everyone’s ready when they’re coming in.”

Reflecting on his own performance, O’Driscoll said he is embracing a mentality that allows him to play with freedom and enjoy his football.

The 24-year-old has been part of Fremantle’s AFL side for three consecutive weeks, where he has averaged 22 disposals and 4.6 marks per game.

“I’m just taking it each week at a time, trying to enjoy my footy, and I think it’s showing,” O’Driscoll said.

“I’m playing free of mind, just enjoying being back out there with the boys.

“Playing AFL is the best part of the week, and to finally be back, it’s great.”

Fremantle will now enjoy the Round 14 bye before returning to face Geelong at Optus Stadium in Round 15.
