Marking the 24th annual Starlight Purple Haze Game, proudly presented by South32, the Fremantle Football Club is on the verge of surpassing another extraordinary fundraising milestone.

In 2026, we are poised to achieve an incredible total of $4 million raised for the Starlight Children’s Foundation since 2003, with just more than $300 thousand to raise.

This year’s fixture will see Fremantle take on Sydney at Optus Stadium on Thursday 9 July, in a top of the table clash, with the Starlight Purple Haze Game, proudly presented by South32 front and centre, reaffirming its place as one of the most anticipated nights on the Fremantle calendar.

In place of a special edition Starlight guernsey, players will wear special warm-up tees for the game, featuring artwork created by children from the Starlight Express Room at Perth Children’s Hospital. Asked to draw what Starlight meant to them, their images have been combined into a single, one-off design.

These limited-edition warm-up tees will be auctioned after the match via The Dock, the Club’s official team store, giving fans the chance to own a special piece of Purple Haze history. A portion of each warm-up tee sale will go directly to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

The funds raised in the annual game have helped brighten the lives of countless children facing serious illness, creating precious moments of joy, distraction and hope during some of their toughest times.

Fremantle fans are once again encouraged to get behind the cause by pledging any dollar amount for every goal the team kicks during the match.

South32 will help kick-start the fundraising by pledging $1,000 for every Fremantle goal and will match fan pledges up to a combined total of $100,000 - ensuring every goal not only lifts the crowd but also helps brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families.

Fans can also look out for the QR code on game day, either outside the ground with Starlight volunteers or inside the stadium on the big screen.

Purple Haze beanies will be available before the game from section 132 for $30, with $15 donated directly to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Starlight wands can also be purchased for $10 outside the ground from volunteers roaming the Stadium, as well as inside the ground at section 101, section 131 and the Clubhouse/Riverview Room.
