Purple Hands Foundation is proud to announce a new partnership with JERA Australia, whose support will enable the Foundation to expand its Intercept program to reach more young people than ever before.
JERA Australia's investment will support the expansion of Intercept into Fremantle Police and Community Youth Centres (Fremantle PCYC) throughout Term 4 of 2026, creating new opportunities for young people to access early intervention support in a community the Intercept program has not previously reached.
Intercept is a targeted, metro-based early intervention program supporting young people aged 12 to 17 who are at risk of disengaging from education, community or positive opportunities. Through sport, mentoring and hands-on activities, the program creates safe, supportive environments where participants build confidence, strengthen relationships and develop practical life skills.
The program focuses on improving confidence, wellbeing, resilience, positive social connections and pathways into community life, strengthening the protective factors that help young people thrive.
Delivered by Purple Hands Foundation facilitators alongside PCYC youth workers, the Fremantle expansion represents an important step in the Foundation's vision to make Intercept accessible to more communities across metropolitan Perth.
Purple Hands Foundation Operations Manager Amber Vandam said the partnership demonstrated what could be achieved when organisations invest in preventative programs for young people.

“Their support allows us to bring Intercept to more young people who can benefit from early intervention, positive role models and meaningful connections.

The Intercept expansion at Fremantle PCYC will run weekly throughout Term 4 of 2026, with JERA Australia's support helping create new opportunities for young people to build confidence, connection and positive pathways for the future.
