Exciting midfielder Tilly Banfield will remain in purple until at least the end of 2028 after signing a two-year contract extension.
The fleet-footed winger has played 18 consecutive games since her AFLW debut against the West Coast Eagles in Round 5 last season and can’t wait to add a few more.
“This Club is the best thing ever, I love it,” Banfield said.
“Everyone is so nice and the culture is amazing. We’re brewing something special here and I’m so grateful to be a part of that for the next two years.
“I’m honestly so grateful, but I actually have so much fun. I wake up and go “yes, I’m going to footy” and get sad on my days off!”
Banfield has been a model of hard work and consistency this season, averaging 14.3 disposals a game. The 21-year-old speedster has also booted three goals with the time-trial queen often outrunning her opponents over four quarters.
AFLW List Manager Darren Fry says the Club is delighted the former hockey player is committing to Fremantle for a further two seasons.
“For Tilly to come into the program as a cross-code athlete at the start of the 2025 season and play every game since is a great achievement,” Fry said.
“It shows her dedication to improving her game and how she has worked incredibly hard on and off the track.
“Tilly has shown her running power, both as a high forward and more recently on the wing, and she’s given us real versatility.
“Tilly’s still young and we’re really excited to see her continue to grow as a footballer in the future.”
