Fremantle senior coach Ross Lyon said despite the undefeated start to the year and positive media, there is a fine line between a good and average team.

Speaking to Seven News on Tuesday, Lyon said there was room for improvement after Freo’s 30 point win against West Coast on Sunday.

“There is a lot of noise and positives been written but we understand how fine a line it is between a good team and an average team,” he said.

“We need to keep working hard.”

This Saturday’s heavily anticipated match against Sydney, pits two of only three undefeated teams in the competition against each other.

“We will certainly know where we are after we play Sydney Swans,” Lyon said.

“If you want to be the best, you have to come up against the great teams, Sydney have been in two out of the last three grand finals.”
